Introduction

Spiritual Director
His Eminence Kyabje Garchen Triptrül Rinpoche, Spiritual Director

The Drikung Mahayana Center is a Tibetan Buddhist center founded by His Eminence Kyabje Garchen Triptrül Rinpoche (brief biography). The Drikung Mahayana Center is a sister organization to His Eminence's primary US center in Chino Valley, Arizona, Garchen Buddhist Institute and is located near the nation's capitol, Washington, DC. The Center provides an opportunity to generate an appreciation for one of the world’s great religions and cultures. While the Drikung Mahayana Center seeks to preserve those practices and insights that are specific to the Drikung Kagyu lineage, His Eminence holds multiple lineages and the Center supports and sponsors teachings from the Mahayana, Vajrayana, Dzogchen and Mahamudra traditions.

We welcome people from all cultures and religions to visit and attend Dharma teachings. Programs are offered throughout the year for beginning and experienced Dharma students and for practitioners from other religious traditions.
